Frequently Asked Questions
Can I continue to use Xamarin after my annual subscription expires?
Yes. Your Xamarin license is perpetual. If you choose not to renew your subscription, you will no longer have access to new releases and support, and we will be very sad.
Can I continue to use Xamarin after my monthly Indie subscription expires?
No. Monthly Xamarin Indie subscriptions renew automatically each month. If you allow your subscription to expire, you will no longer be able to use Xamarin to build mobile apps. Your existing mobile apps will continue to work.
How many developers do I need to add to my subscription?
Each developer contributing code to a Xamarin app needs his or her own Xamarin account added to a subscription. You may purchase a different number of subscriptions per platform; for example, you could configure your Xamarin Business subscription to include 5 Xamarin.iOS developers and 10 Xamarin.Android developers.
Does Xamarin offer volume pricing?
Yes. Volume pricing is available when purchasing Xamarin for multiple platforms, or for multiple developers. These discounts are shown after choosing a subscription plan in our store.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept payment via credit card, check, and PayPal. Need a quote? Contact our sales team at email@example.com.
Do you offer student or academic pricing?
Yes. We require proof of status as a student or instructor at an academic institution to qualify for academic pricing. Details can be found here.
You used to offer annual Indie subscriptions for $299 a year. Do you still do that?
Yes. Xamarin Indie may still be purchased as an annual subscription, which includes a perpetual software license. You can purchase an annual subscription of Xamarin Indie by toggling from “Monthly” to “Annually” in the Xamarin Store.
How does buying additional licenses affect my renewal date?
Licenses are synced across an account to give one renewal date. Each additional license purchase adds 365 days to an account. Renewal date is calculated as follows: renewal date = (total license days) / (# of licenses).
